Does God exist?

Does God exist? That’s a question that always crosses many minds, but that’s a question to which one can hardly have a satisfactory answer. But this article may give you a satisfactory answer. Personally, I am against false doctrines and I don’t believe in mythologies that most religions preach, but after a lot of logical thinking, I have come to some conclusions. Some of them, I am writing in this article.

Why do people want a God to exist?

If there is no God, there would be no one to punish the evil people for their evil deeds. There would be on one to protect the righteous from the wicked. There would be no one to help poor and needy people when they are alone. Ever since the beginning of time, the need for a God has been like the need for air and water. Believing in a divine personality, who is watching us and protecting us from evil force, really makes us feel at ease. So, ever since the beginning of time, anyone who has been an atheist was either a wise spiritual thinker or an idiot.

Why has atheism grown?

Since the beginning of time, atheists either have been wise people who have done a lot of thinking about the subject of God, or they have been idiots. But, now, we may find atheists who are neither. It is because of the Bible. Christians may claim that atheism has grown because of the influence of Satan. But that’s rubbish. Modern atheists believe neither in God, nor in Satan. So, if Satan was behind them, he would have made them hate God and believe in Satan. But atheists don’t hate God nor do they worship Satan. They believe in neither. They simply don’t believe in beings that they do not see.

So, that brings me back to my question- why has atheism grown? It is because of the Bible. The Bible has not only presented so many stupid stories, laws and so many self-contradictions, but it has also misrepresented God. It has shown its god to be violent, jealous, and short-tempered and so on. If a real God exists, obviously he isn’t like what the Bible describes him to be. Since it misrepresented God, many people, have simply chosen atheism instead of trying to find out what the real God is like.

If you think that atheism has not been inspired by the Bible, you should think again. Just look at atheists and you will see that most of them were former Christians and they criticize Christianity. Atheists hardly criticize other religions. Even when they do, it is not because they hate the other religions, but because Christianity has made them think that all religions are the same. But, as some of us may know, some religions like Buddhism are full of logic and tolerance.

Is a God necessary for morality?

Religious people may say that a God is necessary for morality. From one point of view, that is correct. Many atheists are immoral and may even show disrespect to a religion which is tolerant and logical. But, God is not a necessity for morality. Lord Buddha’s philosophies have proved it. According to Buddhism, when we do bad deeds, we get bad karma. And, that’s enough reason to be good. If you don’t believe in karma, replace it with “peace of mind”. Even if you are an atheist, if you commit a murder today, would you be able to sleep in peace tonight? Of course not. So, firstly, even if God doesn’t exist, we need to be righteous to have our own peace of mind.

Secondly, bad deeds beget bad deeds and violence begets violence. If you hurt someone today, he may plan revenge. And, he will hurt you in return which will make you hurt him again. And, in this way, the cycle will go on. So, to prevent this cycle, we shouldn’t hurt others. And, so we have found our second reason to be righteous that has nothing to do with God.

Now, let’s look for a third reason. It can be made simply. I don’t want someone to steal from me, so I won’t steal from others. I don’t want someone to rob me, so I won’t rob others. I don’t want to be killed, so I won’t kill other living creatures. So, we can come to the conclusion that even if there is no God, there are dozens of reasons to be moral and righteous. You can explore Buddhism if you are interested in such philosophies.

Does God exist?

The universe simply can’t form out of literally nothing. Even if it did, how can there be a planet that surprisingly provides everything we need to survive and evolve? Camels live near deserts and their bodies are magically suited to that environment. Same goes for polar bears. The earth provides everything that is needed for our survival. If it is lacking something, it is because mankind is destroying its resources. And, how did time begin? And, did anything exist before the beginning of time? If anything did exist, how? The Big Bang doesn’t answer any of my questions, because even the Big Bang had to be caused by something or someone. So, logically there has to be a force that is unaffected by time or space and we call that force “God.”

If we look at history, we see that truth always wins. For example, in the war against slavery, at last, the slaves were freed. History has shown us that injustice can never prevail for a long time. In many fights against terrorism, the terrorists always have to lose in the end. It is not obvious, but likely, that a diving being is probably helping the righteous and doing His best to establish truth.
Of course, this argument whether God exists or not, can continue forever. And, I have no desire to start such an argument. This article was written to provide a logical understanding of God, and to show why I personally believe that a God, or at least some kind of powerful force exists that is controlling the universe. But, whether you believe in God or not, is your personal decision. And, God is merciful, and He respects your personal decision. So, even if you are an atheist, God still loves you if you are righteous. Christianity has made a monster out of God for money and to control the people. So, even though God probably exists, does the Bible god exist? Of course not.

I see the Bible nothing more as a pathetic attempt of many ancient Jews and Christians to create a book about morality and many people also saw it as a way to control the masses. Few of them who wrote the Bible were right in some ways, while most were wrong. Let us take a look at some more self-contradictions in the Bible.

Question number 1: Why is the Sabbath observed?
Exodus 20: 11: In six days, I, the Lord, made the earth, the sky, the sea and everything in them. And on the seventh day I rested. That is why, I, the Lord, blessed the Sabbath and made it holy.
Deuteronomy 5: 12: Remember that you were slaves in Egypt, and I, the Lord your God, rescued you by my great power and strength. That is why I command you to observe the Sabbath.
Question number 2: Should Christians have obedience only towards God, or towards other men too?
Colossians 3: 22: Slaves, obey your human masters in all things.
Matthew 4: 10: Worship the Lord your God and serve only him!
Question number 3: Was Jacob the father of Joseph or was it Heli?
Matthew 1: 12- 16: The following ancestors are listed: Jechoiachin, Shealtiel, Zerubbabel, Abuid, Eliakim, Azor, Zadok, Achim, Eluid, Eleazar, Matthan, Jacob and Joseph, who married Mary, the mother of Jesus, who was called the Messiah.
Luke 3: 23: …Joseph, who was the son of Heli…
Number 4: Did Yahweh command his followers to offer blood sacrifices?
Exodus 8: 27: We must travel three days into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord, our God, just as he commanded us.
Jeremiah 7: 22: I gave your ancestors no commands about burnt offerings or any kinds of sacrifices when I brought them out of Egypt.
Number 5: Can anyone, even sinners, find the Christian God?
Proverbs 8: 17: Whoever looks for me can find me.
Proverbs 1: 28: You may look for me everywhere but you will not find me.
The Bible is full of so many self-contradictions. They make me laugh like crazy. So, anyone who claims the Bible to be free from error was probably hit on the head with a shovel.
Blessed are the merciful.
