Crime and Punishment

Many orthodox Christians and Muslims believe in heaven and hell. And, they claim that sinners will burn in hell for eternity, while the righteous will enjoy eternal peace in heaven. Some even go to the height of saying that even people of other religions are going to hell. Christians call their god just and merciful, and so do Muslims. But what is “just” and “merciful” about letting someone suffer infinite punishment for finite crime? Suppose, a man committed murder out of anger. According to the Christian theory of crime and punishment, he would suffer eternal hell just because of one mistake. Why Christians and Muslims defend this false theory of crime and punishment is something I don’t understand, and neither do I want to.

According to few Hindus and Buddhists, many hells exist but none of them are eternal. According to this theory, sinners are sent to hell and are given the punishment they deserve. After that, they are reincarnated into a new life form. This theory makes sense but, personally, I believe there is no hell. If God really is merciful, there never would be such a horrific place.

What I believe in is reincarnation. Some people are born disabled, some people die at a very young age and some people are born in very poor families. Orthodox Christians and Muslims have no explanation for this. The only explanation is that such children committed crimes in their past lives. Would a loving and compassionate God make children suffer for no reason? No.

There is also a huge flaw in the theory of heaven and hell. Suppose a child died at the age of three. How is God going to judge him based on his actions?

Finally, biologists have found many evidence of reincarnation. They have done research on children who claimed to have memories of their past lives. After doing more research and investigation, they have found out that the people, whom the children claimed to be in their past life, did exist. In most cases, the dead person also had many strong similarities to the child which further supports the theory of reincarnation.

But, can Christians and Muslims provide even a little evidence for hell and heaven? No. Christianity is full of all kinds of lies and self-contradictions. Remember that Christianity and Islam are the two religions with the highest number of followers across the world. Do they have so many followers because their religion is beautiful and compassionate? No, those two religions were adopted by the people because of their threats of heaven and hell. Plus, those two religions, especially Christianity, were forced down the throats of people who had no interest in religion.

So, according to evidence and logic, the concept of heaven and hell is wrong. For those of us who are looking for life after death should look forward to reincarnation, which actually has some evidence. Frankly speaking, evidence, science and common sense, are the three worst enemies of orthodox Christianity.

Blessed are the merciful.

Religious nonsense

Suppose there is an atheist who is a very kind-hearted and generous person, and there is a Christian who is an irritating troublemaker. Once, the Christian’s house caught fire, and the atheist decided to save his life. He went inside the building to save the Christian’s life. And, so the Christian’s life was saved, but the atheist died as he couldn’t get out. In other words, a well-behaved, generous atheist sacrificed his life to save an irritating Christian. So, who is going to hell and who is going to heaven is something I will leave for you to decide.

The Christian concept of heaven and hell is something that makes no sense. It is really stupid to believe in such a story. Plus, there is no evidence for it.

Here are some arguments used by Christians that have been countered.

What if Christianity is correct?

Most Christians may argue “But what if it is correct?” They argue that if somehow their doctrine turns out to be correct, the atheists and people of other religions will really burn in hell for eternity. But, the probability of their doctrine being correct is 1 out of 1000. There are many religions having different concepts of life after death. What if the Christian is wrong and the Muslim is correct? That would mean all Christians would be burning in hell while the Muslims enjoy themselves in heaven with the seventy two virgins.

Even if there were no errors in the Bible, the probability of it being a word of God is still low. There are many other books from other religions which according to people are inspired words of God. What makes their books any less significant than the Bible is something I will leave for the Christians themselves to decide. And, out of all these books, why should I believe in the Bible, a book that is full of self-contradictions and inconsistencies is a question that no Christian ever dares to answer.

Suppose you’ve never heard of the Bible and Christianity. And, one day, in a book store, you come across the Bible and read a few pages of it.  “Heavens! I’ve become wise. I’ve found the meaning of life in this book. I’m going to believe in Jesus for the rest of my life.” Is that what you are going to say? Nope. You would probably throw it into the wastebasket.

Are you not afraid of going to hell?

Most orthodox Christians argue, “Why are you taking such a risk being non-Christian? If somehow Christianity is correct, you will be going to hell forever.”

There are two holes in the argument.

Firstly, even you don’t believe in the God of Islam. So, if somehow Islam is correct, you will go to hell forever. So, if you tell me why you are taking such a risk by rejecting Islam, you will get my answer about why I am taking such a risk by rejecting Christianity.

Secondly, I am not afraid of hell the same way you aren’t afraid of being killed by a thunderbolt coming from the finger of Zeus for not worshiping him. If I don’t believe in Zeus, I don’t have any reason to believe in Jesus.

If I believe that my biological father will help me when I am in trouble, is that unreasonable? No. So, why is it unreasonable to believe that my God will help me?

If you’ve never met your biological father, you don’t know his phone number, you don’t know where he lives, you don’t even know whether he is alive, then it would be unreasonable to believe that he would come to help you when you get in trouble. The same applies to your god, because you’ve never met him, and you can never be sure whether he exists or not.

But, whether you believe in your god or not is your personal choice. The point is that you shouldn’t force someone to believe in your god.

How is “faith” unreasonable? Don’t you have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow?

I don’t. Why should I have faith on the Sun? It rises everyday to provide our planet with heat and light so I believe it will do the same tomorrow. It is not because of faith, but because of experience, that I believe that the sun will be rising tomorrow.

Now, let’s turn to something else.

Is Buddhism a religion?

All religions are full of nonsense. Even though Buddhism is called a religion, it is more of a philosophical view. In Buddhism, there are no mythologies and stupid tales. Buddhism was actually a rebellion against religious nonsense. Judaism, Islam and Christianity are nothing more than mass delusions. Lord Buddha taught us not to believe in such nonsense. Buddhism is not a dogma; it is about using our sense of logic and justice.

Interesting quotes

Here are some interesting quotes. I hope you like them.
1.      The difference between a delusion and a religion is the number of people who share it.
2.      If you were taught that elves cause rain, every time it rained, you would see the proof of the existence of elves.
3.      A man without God is like a fish without a bicycle.
4.      A society without religion is like a psychopath without a loaded Uzi.
5.      God is the only being who doesn’t have to exist in order to reign.
6.      Christianity- because thinking is hard.
Even if God even exists, why do Christians think that he would want us to sing prayers in his honor day and night? If He exists, all he would want is his people to be good, righteous and generous.

Blessed are the merciful.

How Christianity was corrupted

If you are an orthodox Christian, let me get your belief straight. You believe in an old man in the sky with a white beard who created this world and the universe. He is constantly watching you and everyone, and he will punish you if you do anything against his wishes. And no matter how much you try, you can never be “free from sin” without his help and without believing in Jesus. And, this old man in the sky loves you but he will make you burn in hell forever if you do not believe that Jesus died for your sins. But, of course, he loves you!

Of course, you are free to believe such nonsense. As long as you should keep it to yourself, that is. Why do orthodox Christians force such a stupid doctrine on others is something I never understood and never will.

Jesus Christ taught love and compassion for all creatures. He did not teach bigotry. He did not teach all that “belief in Jesus” nonsense. He taught people to be honest and live a righteous life. That’s all that is needed. Yet, to control the masses and to loot the public, people started all that garbage about “belief in Jesus”, “holy water” and such. So much corruption is going on in the name of Jesus. Such madness was started by the “so-called apostle” Paul. The twelve apostles of Jesus were Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James son of Alphaeus, Simon the Patriot, Judas son of James (not the one who betrayed Jesus), (Acts 1: 13) and Matthias (Acts 1: 23- 26). So, we can see that Paul wasn’t one of the twelve apostles. He proclaimed himself to be an apostle of Jesus, while he wasn’t handpicked by Jesus, and didn’t even meet him. His teachings in his letters contradict the teachings of Jesus. His letters confirm that he was rejected by most of the original churches of Jesus Christ, and later, it was his puppets who used sophistry and force to make his version of Christianity take over most of the world. In the meantime, the true teachings of Jesus were forgotten by the people. But, later, the long lost original gospel of Jesus Christ was found. Yet, orthodox Christians still stick to the Bible, which is full of stupidity and hypocrisy. All of them are bigots who believe that anyone who follows a different version of Christianity is going to hell. It’s because they are followers of Paul. If they had chosen Jesus instead of Paul, maybe they would have had a better personality.
Now, we will take a look at some more self-contradictions in the Bible.

Number 1- Should we follow our own hearts?
Numbers 15: 39: You will not turn away from me and follow your own wishes and desires.
Ecclesiastes 11: 9: Do what you want to do, and follow your heart’s desire.

Number 2- Was Keturah Abraham’s wife?
Genesis 25: 1: Abraham married another wife, whose name was Keturah.
1 Chronicles 1: 32: Abraham had a concubine named Keturah.

Number 3- Who was the father of Zerubbabel?
1 Chronicles 3: 19: Pedaiah had two sons, Zerubbabel and Shimei.
Matthew 1: 12: The following ancestors are listed: Jehoiachin, Shealtiel, Zerubbabel…

Question number 4- Was man created before or after the animals?
Genesis 2: 18- 18:  Then the Lord God said It is not good for the man to live alone. I will make a suitable companion to help him.”So he took some soil from the ground and formed all the animals and all the birds.
Genesis 1: 24- 26: Then God commanded, “Let the earth produce all kinds of animal life: domestic and wild, large and small”- and it was done. So God made them all, and he was pleased with what he saw. Then God said, “And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us…”

Question number 5- Where did Jesus preach his famous sermon?
Matthew 5: 1: Jesus saw the crowds and went up a hill, where he sat down. His disciples gathered round him, and he began to teach them.
Luke 6: 17: When Jesus had come down from the hill with the apostles, he stood on a level place with a large number of his disciples.

Though it has so many self-contradictions, stupid passages, and no moral value, orthodox Christians claim the Bible to be a “holy” book, though it is not. So, these orthodox Christians are the best examples of “blind faith”.

Blessed are the merciful.

The Bible should be banned

Sometimes, I feel that the Bible should be banned all over the world. Because it not only misguides people in fields like history and science, but it also presents so many self-contradictions, sick passages and stupid stories that can irritate anyone who is capable of logical reasoning. In this article, we are going to look at some more Biblical madness.

A disgusting and inhumane punishment

2 Samuel 12: 11: You will see it when I take your wives from you and give them to another man; and he will have intercourse with them in broad daylight.

A god, who commands his followers not to commit adultery, will himself make their wives commit adultery with other men. Is there any limit to Yahweh’s madness?

Killing more innocents for no reason

2 Samuel 6: 6- 8 shows Yahweh killing Uzzah, an innocent man just because the oxen stumbled and Uzzah took hold of the Covenant Box probably to prevent it from falling. Instead of rewarding him, Yahweh chose to kill Uzzah.

1 Kings 20: 35- 36 shows Yahweh’s puppet cursing and killing another one of his puppets just because the latter decided not to hit the former. Seriously, this god kills people not only for trivial matters, but also for no reason.

Isaiah 14: 21: Let the slaughter begin! The sons of this king will die because of their ancestors’ sins.

Such a bloodthirsty god. I don't know what else to say about Yahweh's personality.

Stupid proverbs

The proverbs section is full of nonsense. Let us take a look at some examples:

Proverbs 13: 20: Keep company with the wise and you will become wise.

My comment: Rotten logic. That’s all I can say.

Proverbs 16: 10: The king speaks with divine authority, his decisions are always right.

My comment: As if there haven’t been evil kings in history. Passages like this only confirm that the Bible was written to loot and control the masses.

Proverbs 17: 7: Respected people do not tell lies.

My comment: Wow! I never knew that. So, all the “respected” politicians who have been accused of corruption are all innocent, right?

Proverbs 17: 24: An intelligent person aims at wise action.

My comment: So, all intelligent men are wise? Wish it really was that way!

Proverbs 21: 19: Better to live out in the desert with a nagging, complaining wife.

My comment: Neither sounds good. If you ask for my advice, I’d say- get a divorce.

Proverbs 22: 6: Teach a child how he should live, and he will remember it all his life.

My comment: Whoever wrote this should try raising a child himself and see if it is that easy.
Proverbs 29: 19: You cannot correct a servant by talking to him.

My comment: Yeah, so the only way to knock some sense into his head would be to take a stick and beat him, right?

Proverbs 27: 22: Even if you bet a fool until he’s half dead, you still can’t beat his foolishness out of him.

My comment: Now, wait a minute, if beating him wouldn’t work, nor would talking to him, then how should I educate a fool? Stone to death?

Proverbs 10: 19: The more you talk, the more likely you are to sin. If you are wise, you will keep quiet.
My comment:

Blessed are the merciful.

Bloody passages

We know that the Bible is full of many self-contradictions and inconsistencies. But, there are some stories that are so stupid and violent that I can only wonder why someone wrote such garbage. What’s irritating is that in today’s world of logic and science, people worship a book full of such garbage and call it “holy”.

Let’s take a look at some of the stupidest and bloodiest stories in the Bible.

Exodus 12: 29 – 30: At night the Lord killed all the first born sons in Egypt, from the king’s son, who was the heir to the throne, to the son of the prisoner in the dungeon; all the first born of the animals were also killed. That night, the king, his officials and all the other Egyptians were awakened. There was loud crying through Egypt, because there was not one home in which there was not a dead son.

Yahweh killed all the first born sons in Egypt just because of the sins of the Pharaoh. His circle of cruelty was even extended to the animals. We all know that it is a real pain to lose one’s son. But, the Christian God killed the first born son of each and every family in Egypt. What’s worse is that even the animals weren’t spared. So much violence and killing just because of the Pharaoh’s actions. Now, here is something even more shocking. Exodus 7: 3- 4 specifically says that Yahweh himself hardened the Pharaoh’s heart. If Yahweh could really control the Pharaoh’s heart, he should have made him let the Israelites go without any blood being shed. But, instead, he did the opposite and chose to do so much killing. Why did he kill the innocent Egyptians and the animals though he could have solved the problems without doing so? Maybe he just wanted to show off his powers. A god who can murder so many innocents just to prove his power isn’t worthy of worship. So, I pity those Christians and Jews who takes the Old Testament literally and still worships Yahweh.

Let’s take a look at more Biblical madness.

Yahweh enjoys killing babies, or so says the Bible

Psalms 137: 8: Babylon, you will be destroyed. Happy is the man who pays you back for what you have done to us- who takes your babies and smashes them against a rock.
I don’t care why Yahweh holds a grudge against Babylon, but, killing their babies by smashing them to rocks is something so horrible that I find hard to understand why someone would even think of doing such a thing. Yet, this passage is commanded by the Christian God himself. What’s annoying is that he says that whoever kills those babies will be “happy”. He doesn’t even feel sorry for those babies.

The Bible is full of stories where Yahweh commanded genocides for trivial matters (like worshiping other gods). Even though the Bible is such a bloody book, why are so many people Christians? There are four main reasons why people are still sticking to it.
Many so-called Christian missionaries have nothing else to do for a living. So, they keep arguing about foolish things like the infallibility of the Bible, and pretend to follow orthodox Christianity even though they know that it is wrong.

Majority of Christians in many countries are just rubber-stamped as Christians though they aren’t actually. They don’t keep Bibles, don’t go to Church, and know almost nothing about Jesus. So, these people aren’t actually “Christians”. They are just tagged as such.
Third are those who don’t read the Bible. They just like Christianity or were born Christians and go to Church to pray but they don’t know the truth behind their religion. I’m sure such people would be shocked once they open their Bibles.

Lastly, there are some Christians who don’t take the Bible literally. Such Christians are rare though. They do whatever they can to help others and they do follow the teachings of Jesus but they don’t argue about the Bible and avoid the topic whenever it comes up. Personally, I have no problem with such Christians.

But even if you are a Christian who takes the Bible literally, I don’t have a problem with that. But, the Bible is flawed and that’s an irrefutable fact. So, if you believe otherwise, you are always free to believe so. But, you should always keep such nonsense to yourself. Even though most of the Bible is garbage, if you still believe it to be “holy”, remember that it is your personal view. And you should never force others to believe the same way you do because your view is wrong. Similarly, if you take the Bible literally, you should never force or even convince others to do the same.

Blessed are the merciful.

Vishnu vs Yahweh

Most Christians provide arguments for the existence of God. I won’t say that those arguments are weak, but what’s weak is that their argument that the universal God is the god of the Old Testament- Yahweh. If God exists, why should it be Yahweh? It could be the Hindu God Vishnu. Why? It’s because Yahweh doesn’t fit the description of “loving, kind and compassionate”. Vishnu does.

Let’s make a comparison between the Hindu God and the Christian God.

Burnt offerings

Yahweh took delight in burnt offerings of innocent animals. (Genesis 4: 4, Leviticus 1: 10- 13) He even approved human sacrifice several times. According to the Old Testament, he won’t allow anyone’s sins to be forgiven without blood being shed. Even though there are several passages in the Old Testament that Yahweh hates animal sacrifices, orthodox Christians pay more attention to the chapters of Exodus and Leviticus.

However, Lord Vishnu doesn’t accept blood offerings. The Bhagavad Gita makes it clear that the Hindu God prefers people to be righteous and give up worldly attachments. He prefers self-sacrifice, and has no desire for the blood of innocent animals. Plus, in all of His incarnations, Lord Vishnu followed a vegetarian diet.

So, you decide- who is more merciful- a god who takes pleasure in blood offerings and burnt sacrifices or a god who prefers righteousness?

Murdering innocents

There are lots of examples where the Christian God has murdered innocents.

Deuteronomy 17: 12 specifically say that anyone who doesn’t obey a priest should be killed. It doesn’t matter if the priest did something wrong.

Leviticus 20: 9 says that anyone who curses his/her parents should be put to death. It doesn’t list any exceptions. So, if a little girl curses her dad because he used to molest her every day, it is the girl you will have to stone, not the father.

Deuteronomy 13: 12- 15 says that if some people in a town are worshipping other gods, the town should be destroyed and everyone should be killed. Everyone means everyone- even the babies, the children and the animals. Along with the people who committed a minor sin, even the innocents had to die.

1 Samuel 6: 19 show Yahweh killing a large number of people just for their curiosity.

There are many more examples where the Christian God has murdered people for stupid reasons. But, the Hindu God never killed any innocent human being or animal. Vishnu even did his best to bring sinners to the right path. He only killed when it was a necessity. And, there isn’t a single story in Hindu mythology where He approved a mass murder among people.

So, you decide who is more merciful- a god who wants innocents killed for stupid reasons, who has no problem with genocides, a god who punishes you with death for almost any kind of sin or a god who is full or forgiveness and mercy, a god who never approves genocides and a god who will not kill any sinner unless he/she crosses the limit?

The theory of punishment

According to orthodox Christianity, if you believe in Jesus Christ and follow his teachings, you will go to heaven for eternity. But, if you don’t believe in him or don’t follow his teachings, you are going to hell for eternity. This theory is stupid, but anyway, that’s not my point here. My point here is that no matter what the crime is, will a merciful god let you burn in hell for eternity? What’s worse is that people are only given one chance- one life. You will be judged based on your actions only on this life and you get no other chance. But according to Hinduism, if you commit sins in this life, you will be born again. And, this cycle of reincarnation will continue till you can become close to perfect and unite with God.
So, you decide who is more merciful- a god who will let those who disobey him burn in hell for eternity or a god who will give you many opportunities to reform yourself?

Many more comparisons can be made between Yahweh and Vishnu, but I don’t want to embarrass the orthodox Christians anymore.

So, what have you decided? If you are to believe in God, whom would you prefer Him to be? Vishnu or Yahweh?

Blessed are the merciful.
